Re: This just cost me some money!!
who's name is on those rockers?
what else did it damage? |
Re: This just cost me some money!!
I looks like it might be a "Scorpion" brand roller rocker arm. I have always seen them with the BLUE annodizing color.

Re: This just cost me some money!!
What caused it would be my question. I doubt it just failed on it's own. It looks like something caused significant force. Did a valve hang up somehow? What's the pushrod look like?
|
Re: This just cost me some money!!
Don't know the brand. Damage was extensive. Don't know what caused it. This was the second one to go! First time it was caught early, second was the killer!!

Re: This just cost me some money!!
Did it bend the pushrod? Looks just like a cheap imported cast rocker failure.
Go domestic investment cast, or billet. |
Re: This just cost me some money!!
My new engine will have shaft mount rockers. Both to get away from the guide plates and the stupid valve train geometry of BB Engines!!

Pure Energy - you didn't find out what kind when first broke and replaced ? Or even after this one ? There's a reason why it broke - either POS e-bay crap or something is set up wrong. You need to find out. 2 rockers to break without a reason. |
Re: This just cost me some money!!
If your going to stay with a stud mounted rocker, I would use the Crane "GOLD" race series. Or go to a Jesel shaft system.

Re: This just cost me some money!!
Scorpion rockers have a scorpion stamped into the top of each rocker.
