Rare Breed used to get 875hp using stock cranks etc...
I had a set of stock sb's blown that lived at 805hp.
Depends on the setup and tuning.

Re: stock rods and crank, what HP can they handle
My set up is a 28' single engine boat, Blower motor, 5600 rpm max. looking to get 700 - 750 HP,
I assume I have the same stuff as in a HP500. I see many guys running Whipple chargers on the HP500 , they should be around 700 + HP , correct ????
They dont seem to be concerned or should they be.

There are a lot of good aftermarket rods available these days, but for what it is, the GM forged "dimpled" rods are pretty strong and have seen guys use them in boat engines up to about 750-800hp. It would probably be a good idea to have them shot peened, magnafluxed, and add some good ARP Wave-Lock rod bolts to them.

This weekend I'm stripping a set of 500EFI's that had 8 PSI prochargers on them. HP is 830 according to Procharger. Boat has 119 hrs with this set-up. The entire rotating assembly is coming out and replacing it with 540CI. If you need parts, let me know.

The GM Crank and dimple rods will live under the kind of power you are asking and with proper tolerances should live for many hours. In blower applications the use of a coated bearing is a good idea.

The rods were shot peaned, ballanced, maged and have ARP bolts. So I assume I'm good
