EFI Fuel pump dead. Why?

I was at idle on my Crockett 565 Whipple EFI the other day and the engine died. Very unusual. I noticed that my SX fuel pump did not run when the key was turned on. After a 5 mile tow I checked the fuses visually and with an ohm meter. All good. I checked the relays. All good. I connected the fuel pump directly to the battery. It would run but the engine still wouldn't start. I put a new SX fuel pump on. Same symptoms. It would not run unless directly connected to the battery. I checked for voltage at the pump during the first 10 seconds after turning the key on and got nothing. I did get voltage at the pump when cranking. The fuel lines to the tank are clear.

I talked to Tyler Crockett and he said it may be the fuel pump driver in the MEFI 4A. He just sent me a new MEFI 4A with my program in it. After installation I still have the same symptoms. Other than trading boats, how can this thing be fixed? Thanks Quent

Quent the engine should start if you hook the pump up direct as long as you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail. You may have a issue with the wiring harness going to the ignition relay. I will call you today. Tyler
