Does anyone make a better than OEM intake manifold for a 350 EFI Motor?

Anything out there better than stock? Everything I find is for a carb motor but nothing for EFI motors, unless I want a 3800k edelbrock EFI Kit with intake maifold.

Try contacting this guy http://www.cfm-tech.com/marine.htm , he has done a lot of research on throttle body motors, and knows his stuff :drink: Ask for Scott

Check your TB, it should be the 2" throttle bore size. These came standard on the 7.4L GM trucks and flow around 640cfm.

If by chance you have the 1 11/16" throttle bores they only flow about 480cfm. These where used on 4.3L, 5.0, and 5.7 GM engines.

Now, that said is your T-Body mounted on a 2bbl , 4bbl, or T-Body intake ?

If a 2bbl or Tbi Intake you can get a plate adapter to mount the t-body to any 4bbl intake (for your heads of course) you desire.

If your t-body is on a 4bbl intake (I know Volvo does this but don't think Merc does) then just get a better 4bbl intake.

Let me know what you have and I'll try to help.

BTW: I have a lot of tbi experience also, but with land vehicles. I have not touched really any boats with TBI's on them, thus my questions.

Forgot to mention quick way for identifying what size (throttle bore) tb you have.

The 2.0 bore tb's have an IAC that is held in by two screws. The 1 11/16" bore tb's have an IAC that threads in itself, and thus has no screws to mount it.

2trick - good talking to you.

To help with still possible confusion I figured I'd post some pics.

This one is of the tbi (throttle body injection) throttle body unit. If you have this by slight chance (it sounds like you don't) then an intake change will help.

If this is the throttle body you have (pic below) then you have the one it sounded to me like you have, then there is not a btter intake that I know of.

Just wanted to verify in case I got the wrong idea. :D

Nope, Your right - I was wrong in describing it. I do have the bottom one that your posted. So I’m pretty much limited to any modification I can do? Would that little intake flapper help that your guys make and sell?

I've heard your t-body does not have one installed on the t-blade. So check to make sure. If you do have that riveted to your blade let me know and I'll help you out.

In meantime, talk to Tyler Crockett (or other place that programs/upgrades these motors) and see what he suggests. A cam will def wake up the motor, just depends on prgramming support.

There are replacement HR cams that don't require head work for more lift - Crane CompuCam series that have lift's under .470" but have longer durations and acceptable LSA's.

These won't be as powerful as the HR's that aren't limited by lift. Keep this in mind.

Anyway - pick up the phone at some point and give him a holler.

The programmer is by far the most important part of any EFI build.

those intake manifolds you have are very sought after by the chevy truck guys....theres quite a few that are generating 400+hp with it......it flows way better then the stock vortec truck manifolds. Most common is bigger injector swap with a cam and heads....and of course the computer programming :)
