I run about 4 gallons of antifreeze through the motor. Then shut it down. Then remove the fuel/water separator, and mix in the oil and reinstall. I'll then run two more gallons of antifreeze through the motor. Works perfect.

The final answer is...........10:1 gas oil with stabilizer.

2 hours to replace the 16th plug. No joke. What a mother. it took me an hour to change my plugs. i make up my own words when i drop a plug in the bilge. this year i didnt drop a single plug. i did drop the wrench though. |

My best advice is to give in, pull up the engine room floor panels (if you have any), and just get under the motor. I can fit under mine, although I have not yet done it. |

Sounds like a good excuse to change the exhaust. Guess I'll be doing that and change the plugs and wires at the same time. Now, to get those manifold bolts out......

You'll burn that gas out of your fuel filter in a heartbeat, I use an outboard gas can, connect it to the intake of the fuel filter and let it burn for a while. The merc trained master mechanics at my marina use a 5:1 ratio of Merc two stroke oil in the gas can. Antifreeze (pink stuff) like everybody else says. You won't burn your impeller next spring if your start it up on the hose.
