steering pulley size??
 
Hello I need to replace the old plastic pulley the auto parts store has one for 15 bucks which is 6 5/8 inch much bigger than the orginal one merc uses I believe a 5 3/4 inch pulley .has anyone used the larger pulley or do I need the stick the the 60 dollar merc. one. Thanks

You probably need a pulley the same size as what Merc uses. A larger one may not pump enough fluid.

I would think it 'might' be more noticeable at idle speeds only since the PS pump will be turning slower than normal. After that, should be no different than comparing cruising effort to hauling effort. The pump can only pump so much before the relief valve kicks in. Just my opinion, so......

In all honesty, only time I have ever really noticed a bit stiffer wheel, is with the add- on hyd setup at idle speeds only.

I should have a metal one. Is this serpentine ?
