I was told by eliminator that i could pick up some MPH if I installed a 2 inch shorter drive on my boat. I have a twin step with an extension box. Has anybody tried this setup ? thanks.

What are your current performance numbers, WOT, prop, pitch and speed?

These number will give us a good idea of how efficient your current set up is and can make a recommendation if going higher will benefit you.

81.5 gps @5100 rpm with a bravo 1 28 pitch. Thanks.

What motor and gear ratio do you have?

Also what speed do you see on a regular basis, a speed you attain any time you go out.

If you are running 1.5 gears now it appears going up with the drive would be a benefit. If you have 1.36 gears there would be some other considerations.

I have 1.5 gears in the drive. I have a 509 chevy. in it . It needs more cam witch I plan to install this winter. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like its right around hp500 numbers. Where is the top of the transom plate in relation to the rub rail? seems daytonas came in several drive height configurations. Mine is almost touching the rail. I went black hawk and picked up nearly 8 mph :)
