Flywheel removal

Need help. I have never removed a flywheel on a sbc/alpha. Is the flywheel pressed in? I do not see any bolts to the crank. The alpha coupler was held on to studs in the flywheel. How do I remove the flywheel?????
Thanks

Re: Flywheel removal

Good question, I thought all SBC flywheels were bolted to the crank. Mine is vintage 1986. Coupler is bolted to flywheel, flywheel is bolted to crank.

Yup, bolted or studded onto the crank. Should be six of them.

Many times they are rusted to the crank and studs, it only takes a tiny bit to stick real hard. Shoot a little rust buster and let it sit take a block of wood and decent sized hammer and smack it from the engine side. Prying can lead to trouble!
