good battery location???
Hey guys, I just yanked all the wiring out of my 377 Scarab- want to redo it to a better standard. I'm thinking of putting my batteries under the rear seat in the cockpit near the sides. I did this years ago in my old Formula 302. It gave me a lot more room in the engine compartment and the new location was cooler and better vented; batteries cables only ended up being 4" or so longer. What do you think? - any really bad negatives? Thanks - Jeff

Re: good battery location???
You are moving wieght forward. It may affect the handling of your boat a little. But, no more than one extra girl would. :drink:

Re: good battery location???
i did exactlywhat you are suggesting and it worked very well. in my case on a 38 gun, it moved that weight almost right on the cg of the boat which helped everything as well as thye benefits you observe.

Re: good battery location???
On a similar note, on a single engine boat, shouldn't the batteries be on the starboard side to help counteract the prop?? Mine are on the port side
