Vary confusing, I would agree...
There is a diagram with dimensions on there web page from what I remember...
If you have a Merc BBC package with the stock cast iron exhaust manifolds hooked to pipes the lead straight (no bends) out the transom, they will have a "standard replacement package...

One more, Keith Eickert Headers, Performance same as a true header, no welds to break, will last for a long time.

Well maybe I should edit my post. In my experience header don't last as long as manifolds.
The welds or areas around the welds fail...
The CMIs on the Merc 525EFI engines are an example; lots of failures...

Common with a few of my friend's boats too. Major $$$ to replace. I'm going with SM or EMI when I replace my stock manifolds/risers. I don't want the expense or potential issues with headers.

These Stellings on my Tiger were manufactured in 1998 and are perfect in both function and appearance. It's important to note the boat has had meticulous attention paid to maintainence.

I can see purchasing true tubular headers if your application calls for it. If not, as others have noted, the warranty is FIVE times longer on most manifold riser combinations like EMI or Stainless Marine.

If I were going headers, the KE's would be my choice. It seems to me the design of them would be a lot less prone to failure, not to mention I think they look cool as hell. Some people think they are butt ugly.

NOTHING compares to Stellings! Simply the nicest headers made. They also stand behind there product like no one else.

Seems like most everyone citing stainless header failures indicate "cracking" (often at the flange is indicated) as the mode of failure. If "cracked" only why are these not just rewelded? If the mode of failure is not simply "cracking" then what is it?

The KE web site shows independant test lab dyno data that says that their manifolds out perfrom CMI headers and everything else for that matter. Anything to this?
