Arizona Speed And Marine EFI conversion Build up

I thought others on this board might be interested in the final stages of converting my 540cc to an EFI conversion Kit from ASM using a Fast ECU. The end product will be a pretty fast and hopefully a reliable motor.

I am missing some of the beginning pictures but i will try to keep this post updated with the most current pics. Since, this is my weekend project updates will follow on Mondays..

First step was to install a standard GM Splash Shield in the lifter valley, sorry i forgot to snap a pic of the install after it was completed.

Second, build the GM Fuel Rail with 55lb injectors.

Third, Install Manifold with supplied stainless hardware.

Fourth, Install Fuel Rail to manifold.

Thats as far as i got this day, i only had a few hours, hopefully next time i will have a whole day to devote to the project.

Nice job. Glad you told us that wasn't the GM splash sheild...I though with the slumping auto sales they really got cheap!!!

What are you using for the throttle body? I have an ASM Large Bore Throttlebody for sale at a very reasonable price. I also have a ASM modified intake for sale, looks like yours.

Good luck with the project. If we can help with a set of CMI Headers, let us know.

Krumsnatcher, I have a program for the FAST that was on a 540 with Dart pro 1 heads and crane 741 cam. I'd be glad to send it to you for a base program if it would do you any good. Saves a lot of work if you are starting from scratch. It made about 640 HP.

I have the ASM 1000CFM polished and all pretty, picked it up on ebay and had ASM rebuild it to my specs.

I will let you know, my buddy out here builds sand rails called Buckshot Racing and they use only Fast computers. I will pass this on to him and get back to you. I have not even opened the FAST components yet.

Cool project. Maybe it's just the angle, but that last pic looks like there will be some issues with the distributor/fuel rail clearance.

I live nearby and if I can be of any help at all, let me know. I have a lot of diagnostic equipment and marine EFI wireing components.

I agree, it look's like it needs to be rotated in the oposite direction. On my 500EFI the regulator housing part of the fuel rail is toward the rear next to the distributor.
