How do # of blades effect prop?

If I have a set of 3 blade 19x20s that work fairly well - what if any effect will 6-blade props have? Also, will they need to be much smaller in pitch or diameter to work?

This is for an arneson driven cruiser.

Thanks

Each added blade is one added pitch or a bit more, at least on our Cleavers that's how it works out.

better

props running inthe water don't have shock when ventilated blade hits the water. six will run smoother and be easier to balance. I have five blade cleavers on my trimax's and would prefer six

Hey Swamp,

If your 3B props are runnig at the approriate RPM then you will need to decrease your pitch approx. 3 inches to maintain the RPM. Keep in mind this is with like diameter.
