Altering Bravos for More Speed?

I have been considering 2" shorties from Imco or the Bravo shop on my stock Bravos. I have also been considering the stock x-dimension using a crescent shaped case (both the same price). Any experience with using either? Is there a speed difference over the stock lower Bravo case?

Also, can the Smirek drive shower cause any disturbance of water to the prop, thus affecting speed?
