NO is inheritantly tough on engines. It works on street vehicles because of the the VERY short periods of time that it's used. Even so, if it's not setup perfectly.....BOOM!!! It's way too easy to go a little lean, and that's when real trouble begins.

My guess is that it would work fine, as long as you don't use it for more than a few seconds. Problem is, it'll be VERY tempting to hold the button down "just a few more seconds". You'll also go through nitrous pretty quickly.

N20

N20 usage is very common in drag boat racing. For drag racing it is a perfect modification, instaneous HP and torque at the touch of a button. Many motors can stand a good hit of N20, from a properly designed system. The mistake many make is too large a system on motors not designed for it (stock head gaskets/cast rotating assembly/etc), or not enough enrichment fuel, creating a lean burn meltdown.
For our long(er) distance, offshore, poker run type running, N20 is not the way to go, however. Most of the large displacement big blocks we run will quickly deplete the supply, and the instantaneous hit will be hard on drives.
I recommend additional engine modifications including supercharging, which works very well for our long distance runs.
Here's a pretty complex (dual stage/lean burn) N20/alcohol system I used to run on my last drag boat. This 2.5 Merc made over 600HP @ 10,000RPM.
Regards,
Steve
