New riser extensions

Posted a few days ago about finding some reverison upon firing the new motor with the short risers. Today, I cut some 6" extensions and welded them up. I used some scrap 3" exhaust pipe and coated it with POR15. I fired the motor up again checked and it was dry. Problem solved. :D

Another plus is the sound is much deeper and a tad louder. The new pipe is only 3" from the tips so it does not have to push the water far at all.

Check em out.......

So, you extended the inner pipe or the outer pipe? Or both?

Watch your exhaust hoses for hot spots. Sometimes the water won't mix evenly with the exhaust when you do that and you may end up with melted hoses.

I extended the inner exhaust portion. I also opened up the water holes in the water jackets more to get more water spraying over the pipe. Time will tell.

Post some pics of your boat. I almost bought a Hammond jet boat back in the early 80s.

Here you go. I'm the original owner and it's still in excellent condition and runs like a raped ape!

Nice looking boat. It does seem to run nice. It's nice and flat for how high you have it trimmed.
