replacing exhaust hose?

I'm replacing the silent thunder box on my 271fastec with regular tips & mufflers. I removed/destroyed the exhaust hose between the tailpipes & the transom tips. When I go to put the new hoses on, is it easier to do if I take the tailpipes off the exhaust manifolds?? I'm running the EMI thunder exhaust with the stainless riser/tailpipe so if taking the them loose from the manifolds is easier than I need to have some new gaskets sent on the double. Any tips will be greatly apreciated!

You should not need to remove the risers since you will be installing new tips.

Thanks for the info! I had the EMI exhaust insatlled last winter & they used a heavy duty wire reinfored hose that was a bugger to cut off. I had to use bolt cutters to clip the wire. I ordered new hose with the new tips & it doesn't look to be embedded with wire. Would vasaline be a good choice of lubebricant to slide the new hose up the tailpipes?:D

I would use a soapy solution if you need to use something.
