Crossover Or Waterpump

i'm within a few weeks of unwinterizing my boat and know that my engine needs a new waterpump
my question is , should i just put a new mercruiser waterpump back in place , or should i install a crossover and the thermostat housing that matches?
i'v found the parts online and its not very expensive , neither is the water pump for that matter , does the engine circulating pump actually drag that many ponies? and if i do the changeover , does the stock seawater pump for a bravo1 drive supply e-nuff water to cool the engine even at idle ?
another question is the belts , eliminating the water pump , how do i order the smaller belts that run my power steering pump / alternator / seawater pump?
the engine is a stock 454/330 , 1988 in a 24 foot Checkmate enforcer , everthing seems to be doing well , last year i got 4800 rpm @ 60 miles per hour (i lil too much prop slippage) but thats a different issue

thanks in advance for any help

I had to go to a crossover, and a different t stat housing on my 330 horse when I changed exhaust.

This topic has been discussed more times than enough and in my opinion a correct answer was never given. What i got out of it is that water pressure in the block is a issue and the dealers that sell crossovers do not mention this . This is the biggest issue We will see what pops up this time.

I went with a crossover and t-stat on my 330hp and have zero problems with cooling, and it looks a hell of a lot better.
