Inconel exhaust valves

Is there any difference in the appearance of an Inconel valve compared to a Stainless? How do you know if you have them or not?

Thanks,
Frank

Inconel is much more durable than stainless and is best for exhaust valves. My understanding is they are composed of iron and nickel ... perhaps they would be magnetic?

Should be some kind of marking or numbers on the valve stem?

Inconel 625(non-hardenable) and 718(hardenable) are not magnetic.

I was told by someone at Manley that a magnet should stick to the valve stem 1/2 way up if it's inconel.

He already did that. It stuck. Didn't stick on the valve.

Well, the heads are already assembled, but it didn't stick to the valve side, but it did to the stem side. Only problem is, the the stainless intake valve did the same thing. I guess I'm going to have to trust AFR that they are in there.
