thru hull exhaust
Can someone tell me what I would need to insatll a thru hull exhaust on my 88 wellcraft with 5.7L.
Kahona's big enough to cut 2 big holes in the transom! :D
You would need tips obiously,Wet exhaust hose,And a block off plate for the Y pipe..Or you and just use something to block off each hose going to your Y pipe..Like cast iron pipe plugs and some silicon and hose clamps..If you wanna go cheap..Then call Corsa Performance or ask someone on here and they can tell you exactly were to drill your holes..And some balls like Jim said cause once you do it there no going back..Good Luck...And yes it is worth it

with a small (ok in my case micro) HP motor, is there really much to gain going to thru hulls?
I dont think you gain much , but the sound of even a small block chevy is worth the holes
also , depending on the boat you might need to buy riser extensions to go between the manifolds and risers to lift em up , so your pipes clear the power steering actuator , if you put the tips to high or even with the riser you risk water coming in thru the exhaust and hydro locking the motor |
