That may work, but I can not remember if the flapper bolt is removable or not. For some reason i think it is welded into the tip which is why i could not replace the flappers previously. I appreciate the offer, but the tips are so discolored from the heat I am just going to figure out something and go with new ones.

Stainless polishes,,,try Brasso, I have a full auto/M-16 with a SS barrel after 2 mag dumps the barrel was gold, polished by hand in 5 minutes

i've got some Brasso at the house, I will make a pass on the one that I have out of the boat and see what happens.
