3/8" fuel line feeding a whippled 454?
 

I'm soon bolting on a whipple 2.3 EFI blower on my 454 magnum. I plan to run the 7psi pulley although I have the 5 psi pulley too.

My donzi's fuel tank has a welded in bung and everything from that fitting to the carb is all 3/8". I know I should be running bigger, but I can't cut off the pickup and weld a new on a 19 year old aluminum fuel tank.

I plan to run the 3/8's line to the SX pump which uses AN-10 fittings through the aeromotive regulator, then going down to -8 line to the fuel rail. I have a -6 return line from the reg which will be 3/8" line dumping into a moroso EFI return fitting in the 2" fuel tank fill hose.

I plan to run a Livorsi fuel gauge in the dash- what line do I use for that? Stainless braid? the fuel gauge should tell me if I'm feeding enough fuel to the motor.

For the return line, I'm assuming I use the west marine coast guard approved 3/8" fuel line to a barb to AN-6 fitting on the regulator.

Sound about right?

The most important line is the draw line from the tank, it should be 1/2" . After the pump, it is ok to scale down slightly.

Well would 1/2" line be a waste if the tank has a 3/8" fitting on it?

make sure your pickup does not have an anti siphon valve in it, if it does take it out and install a shut off valve just past the pickup, the anti siphon valve is bad for flow, remove it and watch your fuel pressure, im running stainless braided hose on main and return on my aeromotive fuel system it is coastguard legal and looks good

I just last summer put a new tank in my 1982 22 Classic, and I had it plumbed all the way back with half inch to the pump.

Its gotta be 1/2 Do what you need to to make it so. I had a Whipple on a carbed 454 and I ran the stock pump and had an electric feeding it also so I never went below 7 psi fuel pressure even at WOT at 5200 and 6 psi boost.

You hafta do something at that tank feed. Sorry, I know it sucks......

My tank had 2 3/8 bungs. I took out the siphon valves and ran the two lines into my water/fuel separator( it has 2 inlets) Then i pulled the 1/2 line off it.

That works...

Only one bung on the top of the tank for me. I'll just plumb it and watch the fuel pressure...

Speaking of fuel pressure, what kind of fuel line do I run from the regulator to the fuel press gauge in the dash? I'm assuming I want stainless braid- what brand and what size? AN -2, -3?
