I have built a couple but I bolted them onto the block before welding to keep them straight. They were built from scratch and for cars not boats.

just picking brains i kinda had a feeling the welding bent it up a bit...........Pulled the motor and found out it was a combination of the new oil pump rubbing the pan and the pan was a bit tweaked from welding.........
