I had two built by Stef's. I run external wet sump pumps. They were 100% built from the rail up, all stainless, no leaks, expensive.

My dad has built some custom application dry sump pans
(mostly circle track),and i have built a few wet sump pans.Did you build a fixture to hold the the pan rails when welding,or even bolt it to an old block?Perhaps things moved from welding.

Do you have a photo of your external wet sump pump?

Thanks

The pump is at the very bottom. It is a single stage Aviaid. They are small but great to work with. What I like most is the adjustable oil pressure.

I am using the newest Peterson Wet Sump pump with the KE cast alum pan with the build in oil pump mount.

This is what i think happened it is leaking just when i put it under high rmp.....When the crank is pounding oil around it starts to seep, i made a 8 qt gil a 12 qt.......It just suck i have to pull the motor to fix the pan......Oh well all aero quipp fitting and a few trans and bracket bolts........I am thinking 3 hours tops....Motor out pan pulled fix pan on a decked bench, ram motor back in fire up and see if it is leaking........

one lesson I learned is you can't set the engine down on the pan after you installed it and expect it not to have a leak. Now I always keep in on a stand, on a dolly(motofeet actually) or in the boat.
