Holley Carb 800 CFM electric choke?

I rebuilt the carbs on my HP500's. They are stock 800 CFM Holley 4150's. One sounds great, the other isn't sounding right so for the $ I'm just going to replace it. Here's my question. Everywhere I look online I"m seeing 800 CFM Marine Holley's with manual chokes. Hp500's have electric chokes. Does someone sell them set up that way already or do I have to buy the electric choke conversion kit? I notice the 850 CFMs all come with electric choke? What gives?

It looks like the 800 comes with manual and the 850 comes with electric. The kit can be added to the 800 though.

I don't think you need a choke.

Nickerson's took the elec choke off my 850, and the engine started much easier and the idle smoothed out allot quicker.

Guess if I had a choke though, I'd prefer manual type, then I wouldn't have to worry about it kicking in unless I wanted it to :D

Boats don't really need chokes. they create more problems than they're worth. Just let it warm up at 1200rpms for a few minutes and you're good to go.

Im going to take the chokes off my 850s this year to maney problems I tryrd like hell to get them to work but could not. Just warm the engines up a bit. Oh ya I could not live with out the electric choke on my 79 Trans am and can make that sucker work perfect. But for some reason the boat whole diffrent story.

A holley choke can be put on the carb. They're available for about $50.
But I would eave the chokes off. Just be sure to plug the air vent hole. It's got a little cork gasket that goes between the carb and the choke.
