What Crank to buy
 

Can i have some feedback on what cranks people are useing that handle over 900 HP at 4.250 stroke or more when the overlap is getting small. Thanks. Jas

Callies Magnum, its good for 1500+HP.

Pricy, but you can't go wrong with it.

Callies magnum works great zero failures to date

I have good luck with Sonny Bryant billets.

Howard racing cams has a 4340 crank it's there pro series is good for over 1000 HP. Kentucky forgeing's machined by Callies all made in USA for 1325 bucks . They also have some nice billet rods. I'm also running the hrc ultimate duty crank,permatoughed .080 thou deep,4340 vacuuum degassed steel,4 seasons now and it still has no cracks and hasn't even needed to be turned either. Best part its only around 1300$,made in usa too,no chinese beer can recycled mystery metal. The rods they make are just as good,I'm having new bolts and bushings put in them now at 245 hours/4 season,3rd refreshen and they still looked perfect. The shop doing my machine work likes the way mine look so much they are buying them for motors they are building,Smitty

It has been said the Bryant cranks look like jewelry.

It might be worth your time to visit with them about balancers,location of the counter balance,swap fire vs. standard firing order,key ways,depth of snout bolt hole and etc.....They would also need the bob wt.

Is this CAT. If not what are the cat cranks like. My builder says 2 dollar from china and wont use one. Jas
