remove/clean fuel fitler seadoo gtx
does anyone know how to remove and clean the fuel filter on a seadoo bombadier gtx? 1996
|
If memory serves me right i think its a fuel/water-filter/sepperater all in one....you lift the front hood and take out the bin/tray....behind it under the steering should be a bulb that you unscrew and clean out.....thats it i think...i dont think theres an actuall fuel filter like you would find on a boat/car...but i could be wrong..its been a while since ive seen or worked on one :)

Wally's memory is good, mine needs cleanup 2-3 times a season.

heres the skinny on older seadoos, as they get older the gas actually degrades the inside of the fuel lines, gunking up the filter, carbs etc.. replace all the fuel lines with good stuff, new filter and go over the carbs..your toubles should then be over for a looonnngggg time.

thanks for you help :) i found the filter and took it apart.. do i clean it out with compressed air?
|
Better to spray it down with carb cleaner and let air dry. If you use comp air you can split the screen if you're not careful.

FYI... There is a tiny little fuel filt in the pump side of the carb. Follow the pulse line and take the cover off. 4 screws hold it on. Very easy to clean...
