No experience with a Simrek, but I have this one, and it works well. It moves an incredible amount of water while underway.

Edit: Just visited Simrek's wepage and I like their new "no-drill" design. If that was available when I bought mine, thats what I would have ended up with. I didn't like drilling holes in my drive. Not that it hurt anything

Have a Simrek Halo. It sure gives the drive a shower, dont know about the impact of the drive temp though. Seemed to cause the propeller to ventilate from time to time. That was solved with some washers to reduce the depth of the pickups

Have a Halo (bolt on - no drilling) -- reduced my drive temp by 48 deg. -- love it!

Simrek is good quality stuff. I have 2 and they work great!! I like the new design with no drilling.

I've used their old style a two different boats and have had good luck. I certainly keeps the drive temp down, no water deposits on top of the drive.

Just bought and installed Halo's from Simrek and they work great! I wish they had the new design when I purchased mine. I had to drill through two stainless splash plates.
