TRS Max Trim?

Whats the specs for them max "safe" trim level? I have mechanical indicators, that range from 0-6. When I raise the drives to #6 on the indicators, I still have about 3 inches of outdrive inside the guides on the gimbles. It seems like there is more to go. I usually trim up to about 4 or 5, but never felt the props cavitate ever. Thanks, MT

No one has the measurement from the trim rams? :(

you cant go by measurements cause evey boat is different....youll just have to go out and play with the settings till its starts to blow out on ya.......on my old scarab i could trim the TRS drives up quite a far way...had a decient rooster going right before it let loose...

isnt that bad for u-joints?

Wally 06-28-2007 03:48 PM

if you get it way up there yeah....i once did it and stopped the boat to see how far up the drives actually were.....it didnt look like it was anywhere near binding the joints....i had the boat for 3yrs and never a problem with the u-joints.....blew the lower gears on one drive the 2nd yr but i suspect that was due to the water intrusion we found later :(
