Fuel economy??
Going on a long trip, have 38' Powerquest with stock 502 EFI what rpms would give me the best fuel economy?? Thinking 3200?

Towing it to your destination!!!!!
I would think with a straight bottom heavy boat you would be closer to 3400 to achieve the best mpg. |
Usually, 3000rpm on Merc's V8s gives about the best mileage (that's from noting many magazine fuel consumption test results over the years). 3200 should still be decent, though (if you can call 1.5 mpg decent  )

Anyone who can predict the best fuel economy within 200 rpm has a crystal ball. All boats are different, even with the same engine. If there is a boat test with your engines, then check that out. Otherwise, get a fuel flow meter, a gps, and a calculator. It's the only way to know.
