Ignition Module

I'm looking for a spare thunderbolt IV module. My original is a V8-24 but I'd be ok with a 22 as well. I've been losing spark intermittently and would like to keep one on board. Thanks

I doubt its the ignition module. If they go bad, they usually quit advancing or just quit all together.

If it would act up consistently, I could diagnose it pretty easily. So far it has only happened in the middle of the river where the main concern is getting out of the way when it dies (barge traffic). Of course, when I'm out of harms way or on the trailer, everything works perfectly. I'm open to ideas but I only see a couple of possibilities (pickup, coil, module, connections). I already put a coil on it since they're cheap and readily available. At this point, I'd like to put a module on it to see if it helps. I've never seen a pickup work intermittently and all of the wiring/connections seems good. If not for the dollar factor I'd just put a crane box on it and be done with it.

Well, I'm definitely looking for a module now. The boat quit on me this weekend. Luckily I had a spare module of a friends that I put on to get it running again. Unfortunetely, he needs his module module back to finish his boat. So if anyone has one they could part with, let me know. Thanks.

You can use the ignition module from a '92 chevy truck. I was told this by the Merc Technican at Nichols Marine. Costs 40 bucks. If you look at your old one it has a GM stamp on it. I put one in about 6 months ago and it has worked so far.
