Default What type of shift cable do I have here? pic included

This is one of the shift cables off of the Chris Craft Stinger I just bought, 502's with Bravo one drives. It is melted in one place, and is really hard to operate.

Unfotunately, the ends do not look like anything I can find on line.

The cable goes from the shift lever on the console back to the shift lever on the engine... it is 16 feet long, and both ends look exactly like the one in this pic:

All of the other cables on the boat are red in color, and look to be of much higher quality than the one pictured here.

What should I be asking for, and where should I go to get a replacement?

Thanks for any and all help.....

Greg

That looks like a 33C cable. It is very common and used on aftermarket shifters and for mechanical indicators etc. The threaded end should be a 10-32 thread. Eddie

Yup, just like Eddie said. A 33C Supreme cable.

Sorry to hear your working Ed, I'll have one for ya!

I think Vail finally blew a drive in the Nortech, he's having trouble with going into fwd on onw drive, I still have to go look at it. Motors are still running strong!

See ya man!!

Thanks for the info, guys! I was able to find several suppliers of these cables after you all told me what I actually had.

At first, I was looking at Mercruiser cables and they were totally different.

Time to place an order......

Greg
