454-330 no start????
I recently took my old 1980 454-330 BBC w TRS out of storage. The engine would crank, but no start. I replaced coil, points,condenser and starter. The engine fired and ran for a split second on the trailer. I was exstatic. Wife came home and I was still in boat so I went to start it for her and the motor roared for a second and it sounded like bendix was hanging up so I turned it off. (Ran like 2 sec). Nothing with the key again, I have since replaced slave solenid and still get no action when I turn the key. If I jump the slave solenoid, the motor will turn over, but not using the key....what is the problem? The new slave solenoid's terminals are not marked "I" ir "s". I have tried both ways......
