Coil Recommendations for Blown 588" Tall Deck

Possibly getting on weak coil and looking into replacing it. Any body have recommendations on the latest and greatest and Pro's and cons of alternative brands you may have had trouble with?

Thanks for any and all help.

Engines are Blown 588" Tall Deck with 14-71's about 900 plus H.P. Lake Michigan

what are you symtoms, I to think i have a weak coil, but not sure. 622ci natural asp. w/11.1 pistons, seams to just hit a road block at a certain load range, doesn't matter what prop i put on.

His plugs don't seem to fire as hot in that engine when starting. So sometimes makes for a hard start.

If you change the plugs the engine fires on less than a half revolution. Or if the plugs get cleaned up after a nice run it fires real well too.

Go with another Msd coil. It's a cheap fix. I wouldn't overlook the wiring or anything. How's the starter ? Maybe index the distributor by scribing lines from it and on the manifold. Back off the timing to make it start easier and then move the distributor.
