Marine Vinyl Cleaning!!!
 

Hello all, I am trying to clean and brighten my white vinyl upholstery, and sun platform. The upholstery is almost 2 years old, but it has dirt ground in to it. I have tried Starbrite Vinyl Shampoo, and Starbrite Vinyl cleaner and polish, and also other things like Greased Lightning, and Softscrub With Bleach.
It does not look too bad, except I can't get the dirt out of the textured part. Any tricks, or goodies that you all may know of to clean it? Thanks!

I use simple green,magic eraser and lysol tub and tile with bleach and a medium bristle brush.

Try the magic eraser first you will see a difference.

Magic Eraser works wonders on seats, made my boat look 10 years newer.

Some spots were a bit worse, I used vinyl cleaner and a scrub brush with plenty of elbow grease, then followed up with the magic eraser, and they came out like new.

I hear the trick is to wet the magic eraser with vinyl cleaner...use a bristle brush for textured spots?
I'll be trying that before this weekend...

Westleys Bleach Wite tire cleaner from any auto parts store....for cleaning white wall tires but works awesome cleaning vinyl...just follow up with a good vinyl dressing like 303 protectant or STP etc...

I used to use magic erasers. I now uses Boat Bling (www.boatbling.net) sauce products. Vinyl Sauce for the cleaner. Condition Sauce for UV protection. Works AWESOME. Use the Vinyl Sauce with majic erasers for really tough stuff.

BTW: Boat Bling stuff is expensive but they have a 100% money back gurantee :)

Chlorox Cleanup ! This stuff kills the bacteria that live deep in the pores that actually live off the vinyl. This stuff will kill em' and eliminate the ever so common black specs that are in the upholstery. After that use the 303 cleaner and treatment.
If vinyl upholstery could talk , it would say that this stuff is delicious.
The 303 contains special polymers that rejuvinate the vinyl.
It was actually developed by Boeing many years ago.
Before I was so busy repowering and doing drives, I ran my boat and kept it Immaculate. That chlorox cleanup is really the ISH ! BBB

I've used Clorox Clean up with great results as well. It will bleach out any stain with some time and sunlight.

Anytime you clean vinyl rub lightly. Let your chemical lay on top of your stain for a while before scrubbing. Be careful what brushes you use. Stiff bristles may disrupt the surface of the vinyl making it more vulnerable to collect dirt etc in the future.

When vinyl becomes dull you can actually somewhat polish it back up again. Use Arm & Hammer baking powder (slightly dampened not sloshy wet) and an orbital polisher. Too much water and you will get electrocuted.

The white side of the Mr Clean scrubby pad is the best.
