The best paint that I have found for painting bilges is Interluxe BilgeKote and use their prep solvent. Just make sure bilge is free from grease. any flaking paint should be removed from the surface and sanded if paint has not adheared to surface. do two coats but follow directions on paint, if done properly , you should have no problems. As far as bilge pumps and blowers go, I would recommend using a remote mounted pump such as a jabsco or flowjet pump with a remote mounted pickup and hose. Its easy to replace should it ever go bad and use a rule floatswitch. for blowers, use an inline style blower such as an attwood. They work fine and not exspensive to replace. Be in the marine business for over 35 yrs. HAPPY BOATING...:D
