I would buy from Bob .....RMBuilder, he should be competive on price, and I think Morel makes them for Isky.

or do a google search on Crower .Thats what I have been running in all my stuff for years:D

I just got a set of Isky Red Zone tight lash lifters with captive guide bars from Bob Madera. I dont know what they cost me yet, but they look like quality parts. I engine is going back in Monday. With any luck, things will work out.

heres one of the isky"s cracked a strait line right through it.......i am lucky i caught it before it let the needle bearings out of it.....

Call RMbuilder, he will explain the lastest and greatest from Isky. EZ wheels.. no needle bearings. I am hoping this will be a huge step in the right direction..
I ordered a set for my motor, just like Check454. But my motor wont be in till after this next weekend it looks like. Have to order push rods this morning..

Any updates on the red zones...........ya guys have been running them for a couple months now....????

Mr Gadgets 12-23-2007 11:10 AM

I had problems with mine, and no one has given me a solid explantion as to why. I suspect too heavy a push rod (11.100" x 7/16") and not enough spring. Others tell me too much spring.
The EZ wheel bearings held up fine, but for some reason the cam and lifter wheels were eaten up on 5 lobes. I did manage to hit 87.7mph on the gps (4.1mph gain) even with 5 bad lobes. Three had .045" lash.
I still loose sleep at nite thinking about how to solve this problem. I seem to burn up cams rather quickly in this motor, 11.665" deck ht..

Dick and I got our Red Zone lifters at the same time this past summer. After his failure, I was very concerned about the conditon of my lifters. This fall, when I brought the boat home, I pulled the lifters, they look like new. I am running a smaller cam, standard deck block, less spring pressure. We have discussed his problem several times and cant come up with a solid answer as to what caused the failure.
