Thanks US1,

That makes sense... I will buy a cord to sacrifice...

Did you wire to an existing switch or create a new one on your panel? As I don't have shorepower (switch panel) yet , would you reccomend I put a generic switch somewhere on the boat between the TV and the house batt? Like your install my goal is for it not to draw any power when not in use, but still want a clean/ simple install.

Or... should I go through the fuse panel? (I have the "push-push" fuses)? I have never wired to one of these types of fuses? (It cant be that hard right?) The way my boat is rigged the stereo will draw a small amout of current even with the batteries off so I usually just pop the fuse when I put the boat away to avoid the slght current draw.

Sorry for all the questions and thanks a bunch for responding...

I had an unused switch, so I just used it. I like the fuse panel just for the added protection and for the clean install. If you have an open one, I'd just use it if possible.

My stereo amps also always had a small draw on them even when off, so I put them on a relay wired directly from the battery, and triggered the relay with the head units turn on lead. Otherwise would have a dead battery occasionally. I have a main cabin 12v switch that kills all power to the cabins 12V panel, but we stay on our boat from Thur evening till Sun every weekend, so my TV would always be have a small draw if not on it's dedicated switch. We only use the TV occasionally and I didn't want any power to it when not in use, thus the dedicated switch. I have shorepower and a charger, but if I ain't using it, I don't power to it. :)

No problem, your welcome.
