I had an unused switch, so I just used it. I like the fuse panel just for the added protection and for the clean install. If you have an open one, I'd just use it if possible.

My stereo amps also always had a small draw on them even when off, so I put them on a relay wired directly from the battery, and triggered the relay with the head units turn on lead. Otherwise would have a dead battery occasionally. I have a main cabin 12v switch that kills all power to the cabins 12V panel, but we stay on our boat from Thur evening till Sun every weekend, so my TV would always be have a small draw if not on it's dedicated switch. We only use the TV occasionally and I didn't want any power to it when not in use, thus the dedicated switch. I have shorepower and a charger, but if I ain't using it, I don't power to it.
