Cooling System hose routing. Is this bad ?

I bought this boat a few weeks ago and have not had any issues with it, but did notice that the cooling hoses are routed different than what I`ve seen before.
It`s a stock 502 ( carb ) with a crossover and Stainless Marine manifolds.

I`ll try to describe, sorry no pics.

T-stat housing hoses go straight to risers.
Crossover goes to bottom fitting of each manifold.
Block fittings (where water pump used to be) go to top fittings of each manifold.

In essence, I think the water is going to manifolds first, then through engine ?

Water flow out exhaust is good and engine runs 170 degrees.

Am I hurting anything or should I re-route immediately ? Why is this not routed per SM diagram ?

Ideas ? Opinions ?

that way the water gets preheated before flowing into the block. without a thermostat the motor would run dead cold.

Yea, kinda like that.

So, as long as I`m not running too hot, everything should be fine ?
