Water in bildge
Last time i took the boat out i got enough water in the bildge to have the pump running off and on. After reading some threads i thought maybe the transom could be wet and soft.
(even though it has never stood in the water overnight and stays in a garage)Maybe because of its age. So i silconed around the perimeter of the OD real well. I took it out yesterday and it is still leaking. When i looked it seems like it is leaking right around the trim hoses and wires? What could be leaking? I felt the wood around the OD and it feels solid and not soft at all. Thanks in advance For the help!!! P.S. It does have a block off plate but it is only a couple of years old. |

Most likely it is the shift cable boot..a real ***** to change..if you turn the wheel to the right it should stop leaking, turn to the left and it will pour in..that is shift cable boot.

Does anyone know if you can buy just the shift cable boot and not the whole setup?
