575's And Flooding..........???
Just a question here for any one who runs Merc 575sci's.... So far the motors in my new boat have run flawlessly...... One time about a month ago I showed up to the boat with friends.....she was already launched and docked by the guys in the marina....when I tried to start the starboard motor she would crank but not turn over....flooded......as per the manual I set the throttle at half throttle and proceeded to start the moter then pull back after she started.......ran perfect since then.......Sunday I was docking after a long day out....had to spin the boat and maneuver quite a bit........in and out of gear and feathering the throttles and pop.....I hear a pop and she shuts down......I proceeded to pull my self in with a line....tie up and proceed with the flooded starting procedure. Motor started right up just like a few weeks prior and ran fine to get to the forklift and flush the motors......... Anyone else experiance any kind of flooding with these motors....am I doing something wrong....or is this just common with High Performance motors.............sorry for being long winded..........Johnny
