I am rebuilding only one motor in my boat. The rebuilt one will be a 468 with similar compression (7.5:1, turbo motors) to the other one. Both motors will have the same camshaft, intake, heads etc. The only difference will be the newer one will have 14 more CID than the other and the newer motor will have less leak down. The older motor has about 15% leak down. If both motors are running at the same RPM, how will this affect the way the boat handles?

I would guess very little. because
hp difference is not going to be that different.

That is what I was hoping for. The diference in HP between the motors will be about 30-40.

Your throttles may be a tad off.

This happens in airplanes all the time. mid-range throtels will be different but you probably won't even notice. WOT you may experience a different TOP RPM, maybe 50 rpm between the motors.
