opinions on this boat?
The price is in my ballpark, And it is on the west side of the Island. I would have liked to get something newer. Could I be buying someones headaches? What are the + and - of the tranny's? I love this board.

Can't go wrong with a CIG. It has been taken care of and I think it has new power in it. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Sweet boat. Nice power. I have heard that you will need to replace the springs and maybe the risers atleast every 200hrs with the 500hp and the 500efi. Rebuilds every 250-350hrs. Those 500's are a lot of maintenance, but just about every engine is over 500hp.

Is a cig just built heavy duty? They seem to be the most money. Is this just the history behind them or is it a truly differant building method? I love the deeper hulls, they just seem taller overall.

Clean & Priced right...what are you waiting for? The CIG will hold it's value better than the Baja. If you don't want to "upkeep" the boat...go with the Baja. The CIG is a really nice boat and worth the money and by the looks of it, it deserves to be kept up. Don't be afraid of the HP500's Great motors. Just do your due dilligence before buying. Pressure check each motor and look for signs of reversion in the manafolds. This goes for both the Cig & Baja. Good Luck and enjoy.

Boat choise
Go with the Top Gun
I just spent 2 months looking for a boat, I did found one and bought it. Here the story, the baja will be faster, worse in rough water, but I know to much about the company and the design. I won't own a baja. For future resale, the Baja market is flooded. |
