how many pumps of grease in a bravo transom ass.?
 

2006 bravo one transom ass. how many pumps of grease should i put in the transom ass. and what happens if i put to much in it can it hurt it? also whats the torq spec for the two nuts on the gimble ring. thanks

I like 7 pumps,if you grease frequently less ,too much can't hurt anything just makes a mess for the guy pulling the drive. The top ring bolts torque spec is 23-25 ft/lbs. Don't over tighten they will break.

If you are talking about the "U" bolt on the top of the ring, the Tq spec is 50-55 lbs.

The duke is right manual says 50-55 ft/lb tighten evenly. But I believe that is an error. The race boat was marked 23 ft/lbs. I have broken them before and you need to remove the ring to change the bolt. Its only a 3/8 piece of cheap metal . Be careful.
