Flywheel for 502/454 the same?

Can anyone tell me if the flywheel from a 454 will work on a 502? Didn't know if the 502 was ext. balanced?

Yes as long as the 454 is a one piece rear main seal like the 502, should work.

Yep

Not if the 454 had cast internals and the 502 has forged internals. Better check your part numbers:angry-smiley-044:

You may be right, I have never weighed one, but according to Dennis Moores book, they are weighted different. Also Bam marine shows different part numbers for a gen VI 7.4 MPI (with cast internals) vs 454 Mag (with forged internals)
