I just poked around the link, haven't really done any researching. Doesn't have the "WOW" of the ASM/Merc HP EFI/Volvo/Marine Power intake, but at $2-3k less plus the ability to use any carb intake manifold & flame arrestor it sure looks interesting.

What I'm still stuck on is fuel delivery. I'm no expert at EFI fuel systems, so I need to figure out the nuts & bolts of a reliable system.

Very cool stuff on that website.

:D

so who's gonna be the guinea pig and fork out for one of these? I have a set of RevMarine risers with O2 bungs...

And for those of you feeling really daring. You can try this on a budget.

my concerns would be finding parts.

rdoactive,
I am using the MSII on my 565" motor. Took a bit of a learnig curve but it is working quite nicely. I did modify the driver circuits for the Low Z injectors, to a more reliable setup. The Megasquirt works much better than the Culter system I ran for years!!
Cost is low, but then you have to figure in the hardware that I already had.

That system has no real advantage over a carb. You are still running a "wet" manifold and not taking advantage of the fuel injectors atomizing cababilities. A multiport setup is the better way to go without question.

Why complicate the issue?

ls1nova 12-19-2007 08:43 PM

What issue? Or are you saying to just run a carb and be done with it?

Keep it simple. I just don't see the benefit in complicating things by using that set up except for the fact that it looks cool. It's really not that different in functionality from a holley system out of a Summit catalog as far as I can tell.

I don't see it making any more power than a carburator, when used in a boat.
