350's to 454's
Hey everyone,
I've been thinking about punching out my 350's to 383's. When it hit me, would twin 454's fit in the same hole? If so would my Bravo one drives handle the increased power? The boat is only 29.5' long with a 7'6" beam. financially right now that's all I can afford, maybe punch out the 454's as well? I don't know. What is the most a 454 marine engine can be bored out to? Well, like I said just kicking it around. What do you all think? Thanks in advance. Sulfur 1 |
With a 7'6" beam, I am wondering if youwill have isues with 454 s fitting. Check the width of your engines and the clearence between exhaust manifolds. then check the width of a 454. See if your clearance is gone.
As far as boring the cango at least .060 over some blocks more. you can stroke them also. |
What kind of boat?
You may throw off the balance with the extra weight. I had an old 28' Cig with small block but they did also come through with Big blocks. I can't imagine working on one with Big Blocks, the small blocks were tough enough. I'd stick with small stroker blocks... |
Stay with small blocks.
