Default Fuel Gauge Sending Unit

One of my Livorsi fuel senders has lost its calibration. I put these in a few years back and they were pretty accurate until recently. Started to drive me crazy. One seemed pretty accurate the other was all over the place. Took them out yesterday to see what was going on. Found that the Empty adjustment pot was pretty much toast. Once you try to calibrate it below 1/4 tank, it just drops out. So, question is this, have any of you tried the newer design reed switch sending units? I am very familiar with the technology from my days in the electronics industry. I have found a couple different manufacturers that are set up for the marine standard of 240-33 ohms. What's your input here?

If you’re talking about the ones with a sliding cylinder instead of the toilet style ballcock, the one I bought from Hardin a couple years ago works great. Just measure the depth of the tank and order the correct one and bingo.

I suspect that you’re looking for some deeper info but that’s my input.

Thanks for the input. That is exactly what I did order, 2 of them on the way , be here Friday. Got them directly from Livorsi, they were a few $$ more than a couple of dealers, but they had them in stock and the shipping was way cheaper, so it all balanced out.

Installed the two senders yesterday. Sitting on the lift, they both read almost exactly the same. Compared to what I took out, at least I know at 1/2 tank they are accurate. The do move around a little with all the boat traffic yesterday, the lift was bouncing up and down quite a bit. Should get a chance to get it off the lift today and take a little ride and see how much they swing on the guage.
