ARP torque specs, and make sure to use thier lube on the nuts and washers. Also, if this is an older engine where the bolt holes go all the way through to the water jacket, be real anal about getting enough sealer in the bolt holes and on the threads of the studs. For some reason, studs like to leak water a lot more than bolts do :( I use the Permatex white teflon paste thread sealer and have had the best luck putting some of the sealer in the bolt holes in the deck surface along with on the threads of the studs.

Hope this helps,

I have a 1999 502 engine. Dose the thread go in to the water jacket?

99 is around the time they were changing. All you have to do is stick a coat hanger in the holes and see if they go through or not.
