head studs sealers

What is a good thread sealer for head studs. Mine pass thrugh into the waterjacks.

I use Permatex aviation cement. The brown stuff that sticks to everything when you are working with it. Nasty stuff, but it works.

I also like the permatex #2 sealer as well. Both do good jobs.:D

Ken,
I use Permatex White Teflon, but have also used the #2 with no problems in the past. One thing that I found with studs is that they seem to seal better if you brush a fair amount of whatever sealer you are using into the hole in the block along with putting it on the threads of the stud. I have yet to figure out why, but for some reason compared to bolts, a lot of the sealer seems to get wiped off the stud as you thread it into the hole.

I've used permatex high temp thread sealant and the ARP thread sealant. If you have ARP studs, then get their sealant and follow their torque recommendations.

I've always used Permatex #2 and have never had a leak.

Can teflon tape be used along with the brush on type of teflon.

I was told to use blue loctite and plenty of it, any ideas on this as a head stud sealer?

ARP thread sealer works well.
